Broxbourne Crime Report: Vehicle Crime Rises 27.3% in June 2026

In June 2026, total crimes in Broxbourne rose to 1,268. Vehicle crime increased by 27.3% to 98 incidents, and theft from the person increased from 8 to 14.

In June 2026, total recorded crime in the Borough of Broxbourne increased to 1,268 incidents, up from 1,218 in May 2026. The month was marked by a surge in vehicle crime and personal acquisitive offences. Vehicle crime rose by 27.3%, increasing from 77 reported cases in May to 98 cases in June. Theft from the person nearly doubled, rising from 8 incidents in May to 14 in June. Robbery also experienced an increase, going from 17 cases in May to 23 in June, while other theft rose from 92 to 106 cases. Conversely, shoplifting fell from 120 cases in May to 88 in June. Burglary saw a slight increase from 36 to 38 offences, and bicycle theft rose from 5 to 6. Among other categories, violent crime increased from 373 to 404, anti-social behaviour rose from 272 to 280, and criminal damage and arson increased from 65 to 69. Meanwhile, drug offences decreased from 43 to 42, possession of weapons fell from 9 to 7, public order offences dropped from 79 to 78, and other crime decreased from 22 to 15.
