Total reported crimes in Cambridge rose 9.1% from 1,349 in May to 1,472 in June 2026. Violent crime remained the largest category, exceeding 400 incidents both months.
Total reported crimes in Cambridge increased by 9.1% (123 incidents) from 1,349 in May 2026 to 1,472 in June 2026. Violent crime remained the largest single category in June 2026 at 406 incidents, representing a decrease of 1 incident from 407 in May 2026, maintaining a volume of over 400 incidents each month.
Several crime categories recorded increases from May to June 2026. Shoplifting rose by 13 incidents, from 219 to 232. Anti-social behaviour increased by 12 incidents, from 214 to 226. Bicycle theft recorded an increase of 27 incidents, moving from 89 to 116. Criminal damage and arson went up by 20 incidents, from 75 to 95. Public order incidents increased by 21, from 69 to 90. Other theft grew by 14 incidents, from 76 to 90.
Other categories with recorded numerical increases between May and June 2026 include: vehicle crime (53 to 58, up by 5), drugs (31 to 37, up by 6), burglary (26 to 31, up by 5), other crime (25 to 32, up by 7), robbery (22 to 25, up by 3), and possession of weapons (16 to 17, up by 1).
Theft from the person decreased by 10 incidents, falling from 27 in May 2026 to 17 in June 2026.
