
Cambridge Crime Data June 2026: Counter-Trend Drop in Theft-from-the-Person
In June 2026, total crimes in Cambridge rose to 1,472 from 1,349 in May. In contrast to most categories increasing, theft-from-the-person dropped by 37.0% from 27 to 17 incidents.
Total recorded crimes in Cambridge increased from 1,349 incidents in May 2026 to 1,472 incidents in June 2026, representing an overall rise of 123 crimes. Most individual crime categories recorded numerical increases between May and June. Specifically, bicycle theft increased by 27 incidents (from 89 to 116), public order rose by 21 (from 69 to 90), criminal damage and arson increased by 20 (from 75 to 95), other theft increased by 14 (from 76 to 90), shoplifting rose by 13 (from 219 to 232), anti-social behaviour increased by 12 (from 214 to 226), other crime rose by 7 (from 25 to 32), drugs increased by 6 (from 31 to 37), burglary rose by 5 (from 26 to 31), vehicle crime increased by 5 (from 53 to 58), robbery rose by 3 (from 22 to 25), and possession of weapons increased by 1 (from 16 to 17). Violent crime decreased slightly by 1 incident (from 407 to 406). In contrast to the broader upward trend across most categories, theft-from-the-person declined significantly by 37.0% from 27 incidents in May to 17 in June.
